Meet the Mother/Teacher- Gen!
Gen is a trained Primary School Teacher of the last 10 years, and a mother of 2 energetic, empathetic and sensitive boys. She has completed more parenting workshops than she cares to admit, including the Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), and has had the last 5 years to put what she has learnt into practice with her own children. The best of it has been compiled into blog posts here for you!
Gen spent the first 5 years of her teaching career, working in rural and country towns around WA, the majority of the time spent in Port Hedland, WA. Here, she met her now husband, Chris, and after 3 years in the North West they moved to Geraldton WA together for a sea change.
Geraldton was, in a way, the beginning! They got engaged here, fell pregnant with their first baby and enjoyed learning to surf. Another baby and 6 years later, they made the decision to move to the South West of WA and be closer to family.
Over the last 5 years, Gen has attended every parenting workshop that was available to her. She found it helped enourmously with her teaching approaches and understanding of behaviour management, while giving her incredible tools to be the best parent she could be. By learning and using a positive and gentle approach to parenting and discipline, Gen has seen her relationship with her 2 boys grow to be a very close and respectful one. Sharing what she has learnt along the way with her Husband, has helped immensely, and made not only her bond with her children stronger, but has also strengthened her marriage and the way they support each other as parents.
We hope that you feel supported here, and that our posts are useful, informative and most importantly, we hope that you resonate with them. It is important to us that you feel a part of a community (or a village, if you will!), so we’d love for you to leave a comment if you find an article helpful!
We’re so glad you’re here,
Gen, Chris and the Team.
